Because every body is a Summer body, and you deserve to believe it.

If body image work has never worked for you before, good news: this is not your typical “jUsT loVe yOuRseLf” workshop.

I recently ran a survey to the sio community and it came back with an overwhelming amount of responses asking for help to accept/like/not hate the body they’re in. Your wish is my command.

You’ll leave this workshop with tangible to-dos, recordings of somatic tools and a solid understanding of how to ditch aesthetics-based body image and adopt body neutrality.

Body neutrality is a holistic philosophy of self-worth that incorporates all the things that make you who you are while holding your body separate from your worth as a person.

typical body image programs miss the mark and here’s why.

Most programs aim for body positivity (aka "Love your body no matter what!") but that's too huge a leap for most people who just plain hate their bodies. We need a gentler, more realistic approach.

That’s why I coach body acceptance through body neutrality.

No more obsessing over looks, good or bad: let's focus on what our bodies can do instead. In this workshop, we'll dive into connecting with your body, tackling body shame, and finding the "Silver Zone"–the space between black and white extremes where body acceptance lives.

Say goodbye to body shame and hello to a new way of being with–and in–your body.

Proudly Offering Sliding Scale Access

I want to make this program as accessible as possible for all so I’m offering a tiered pricing structure. This sliding scale was greatly influenced by that at the Embody Lab which was created by Reverend Kyodo Williams. With three different pricing options, more people will have access to the workshop thanks to the community’s support. Please choose the amount below that feels right given your financial situation and circumstances.

$55

Supportive access

For those who have more than enough resources and feel a calling to support access for those who usually would not have it.

$45

fair access

For those who have enough resources to contribute fair value for the program experience.

$35

supported Access

For those who currently don’t have the resources for the other two pricing options, but due to the generosity of the community will have access.

Cool, so who's Amy?

That’s me! I’ll be your guide through this workshop. 👋

I’m a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, anti-diet culture health + movement coach and a somatics coach. I’m a recovered body loather who now lives and breathes body neutrality. Much of the coaching I do centers around body image and recovery with food and movement.

Through getting in touch with my body–instead of just beating it up with my thoughts all the time–I cultivated a loving relationship with my body that has nothing to do with looks.

I believe strongly in body liberation, feminism and social justice, and apply these beliefs in my work as much as possible. As a mixed race woman (Chinese and Western European), inclusivity is of the utmost importance to me. I never really felt like I belonged in many places so now I seek to create a space in my practice where ALL races, gender identities, bodies and sexual orientations belong.

If you want to learn more about me, you can do that here!

FAQs

  • I had to reschedule the workshop and I’m not sure yet when it will be. You can sign up for updates here!

When I do run this workshop, it will be about 2 hours long and recordings will be sent to all attendees.

  • A device to join from, a separate device to play our Spotify playlist (if you want to move with the music), a journal or your notes app, and an open mind. ;) You’ll also want to wear clothes to move in and some have water close by.

  • Yes! The magic of technology.

  • There are so many definitions of Somatics and this is how I like to describe it to people: Somatics is an approach to healing that prioritizes physical sensation, internal experience, movement and body work. Basically, it’s healing from the inside out. See what I did there?

  • Super valid! There will be options for all bodies and fitness levels AND you can simply sit while focusing instead on the connection cues I give you. The movement helps some connect to their bodies, but if it doesn’t feel right, try it without!

P.S. I will spotlight myself during the movement session so that I’m the only one who will be recorded.

  • I feel you, friend. I’m in recovery, too. If you’re early on in your ED recovery, I highly suggest getting in touch with a therapist who specializes in eating disorders. If you’re already working with a therapist, send them the link to this page so they can give you their thoughts on whether now’s the right time for you to explore this kind of work. I encourage you to honor whatever they recommend.

HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!
